1. I am a Mechanical Engineer. Will this course be beneficial for me?
a. This program is beneficial to you irrespective of your UG background. Working with data is not exclusive to finance, marketing, or technology domains, but is very useful in quality control, operations, manufacturing, and service industries. A wide range of companies, from Amazon to Uber, from Tesla to Swiggy, from Maruti to Cred; all need professionals who are adept at working with data.
2. I want to go into the core sector, not technology. Should I do this course?
a. As mentioned in the previous answer, future jobs will largely be data-driven, irrespective of the industry and domain. You could be an operations engineer but unless you are good at understanding and processing data to optimize supply chain efficiencies, you may find it difficult to grow in your career. This course will give you a good understanding of how to work with data.
3. I have already done a course in Machine Learning, how will this course add any more value to my learning?
a. If you are good with ML, it’s a good skill to have. You are on the right track. But does the knowledge of Excel make you good at working with data? Not necessarily. Does the knowledge of the English Language make one good at writing poetry? Not necessarily. This course if all about learning to work with data and mine information from it. Then, from the information we get, we learn to extract the ‘Signal’ from the ‘Noise’.
4. I want to do MBA after my UG. Will this course be useful for me?
a. This course will be extremely useful for those who will be attending MBA interviews at premier B-Schools. B-Schools are adapting their curriculum to integrate more Data Analytics as an industry requirement for management students with a good sense of data processing skills is growing leaps and bounds. Companies like Uber, Amazon, McKinsey, Bain, BCG, and more are testing candidates directly in this area as part of the selection process.
5. I got 68% in 10th, and my friend got 59% in 12th. Can we still apply?
a. Yes, you and your friend can definitely apply for the course as there is a lot you can learn from it. However, at this moment the internship opportunities are limited and will be available to students who do not qualify the eligibility criteria on a case-to-case basis. Make sure you register as early as possible.
6. Do I get a certificate at the end of the program?
a. Yes, you get a ‘Certification of Participation’ on completion of the program. Students who complete the internship will get a ‘Certification of Completion’.
7. I am in 1st year of my UG; Can I still apply to this course and internship opportunity?
a. Yes, you can. You could be in high-school, 3 year UG, 4 year UG, 5 year Integrated program, MBA or are a working professional, and yet you will find something that will be of specific interest to you in this program.
Do a course not just for the certification, but for the learning that earns you the certification. Do courses that are relevant and will give you real value addition, don't do them just because they are 'free' or 'easy'. Check the section on '10+ Reasons why our Analytics is the Best' to see why we think you could benefit from our Business Intelligence and Data Analytics training (read our Blog series on COVID-19 to observe the strength of our forecasting techniques). Having a Katana does not make you a Samurai, learning how to use it does.
Major Global recessions are not uncommon, but they are usually unique. Each major recession presents a big opportunity to rebuild, to grow, and to thrive. Some do it better than others. I’ve lived through the effects of Dot-Com bubble burst during my graduation from NIT Rourkela, and I lived through the effects of the Sub-Prime Crisis during my MBA (2007-2009). Ironic though it may be, but it makes me uniquely experienced to know what most of you would be going through, and perhaps an expert in career management in crisis situation. Almost every crisis hides an opportunity to be explored, whether it was the IT boom post Dot-Com burst, or the Start-up boom post the global financial meltdown, but the economy went stronger over time and the old gave way to new. Our mission is to help you understand what that ‘new’ could be in the years to come so that you equip yourself with the right skills to thrive.
JAG Educate has always stood out in being a top-notch career consulting and coaching firm that helps students make it to the top companies, Universities and MBA programs in the world. It is a long and thoroughly enjoyable process, and we would like to give you a glimpse into our way of imparting learning. We follow MIT Sloan School of Management’s way of action learning- Mens et Manus (Mind and Hand), and are much more practical and industry-skills oriented than being academics oriented. Considering the situation, the world is in, we believe the next 3 months can be critical in the way you use it: Develop real-world functional skills of the future vs Keep doing what you had been so far. We would like to help those who choose to go with the former with our Advanced Career Enhancement Skills (ACES). Remember, functional skill-sets are more than your certificates. Many companies don’t have a mandatory degree requirement from candidates seeking employment: Apple, Facebook, Starbucks, IBM, BoA, Google, Ernst and Young (EY), Penguin Random House, Costco Wholesale and many more.
Advanced Career Enhancement Skills helps you bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world events to develop your expertise and critical thinking skills better suited to real-world application.
Special pricing for Student Groups from Colleges will be provided on request.
